Chemical Waste

Our responsibility lies not only in collecting and disposing chemical waste. We from Bridges Environmental make sure all the necessary licences for collection, transport and storage are obtained. We have a detailed system of recording and tracking all information about chemical waste. So we can oversee the whole process and make sure all the requirements are being met.
Bridges Environmental offers swift solutions through transport and incineration of chemical waste in Germany but is also able to plan and operate incineration facilities close to our customers.

Licences and registration
Bridges Environmental – like any business – has to be licensed to produce, transport, store, treat or dispose of hazardous waste. We make sure all the licences are checked or obtained:
- for a business premises that produces hazardous waste
- to transport hazardous waste
- to produce, store, treat or dispose of hazardous waste
Keeping records
We keep a record that includes:
- what hazardous waste we are dealing with
- where it is stored on all sites involved
- how it was moved
- how it was ‘treated’ – for instance before it was disposed
Storage
Bridges Environmental makes sure that hazardous waste is being stored safely and securely. To do this, we:
- store it in sealed waterproof containers
- label it correctly and clearly
- display written instructions for storing and disposing of it
- keep it separate from any non-hazardous waste
- keep different types of hazardous waste separate
- keep liquid hazardous waste in a dedicated area, with a bund or barrier to contain leaks
- keep records about it and where it is located
- regularly check for leaks, deteriorating containers or other potential risks
- carry out a risk assessment – for instance to identify what the risks are and how to control them
