Biological Waste
Bridges Environmental excels in disposal. But there is one thing we prefer – turning waste into something valuable. In regard of biological waste we can transform potentially smelly waste into valuable soil and energy: with a biogas plant.
We plan and operate suitable technology and facilities for our clients.
Bridges Environmental not only collects biological waste from hotels, canteens or markets. It selects the ideal process and produces soil with high nutrient levels. But this is just one advantage.
What biogas is
Biogas typically refers to a gas produced by the breakdown of organic matter in the absence of oxygen. It is a renewable energy source, like solar and wind energy. Furthermore, biogas can be produced from regionally available raw materials and recycled waste and is environmentally friendly.
Biogas is produced by the anaerobic digestion with anaerobic bacteria or fermentation of biodegradable materials such as manure, food, sewage, municipal waste, green waste, plant materials and crops. Biogas comprises primarily methane and carbon dioxide.
More benefits
When biogas is used, many advantages arise. Utilisation of biogas would generate enough electricity to meet up to three percent of the continent’s electricity expenditure. In addition, biogas could potentially help reduce global climate change.
Normally, biological waste that is left to decompose releases two main gases that cause global climate change: nitrogen dioxide and methane. Nitrogen dioxide warms the atmosphere 310 times more than carbon dioxide, and methane 21 times more than carbon dioxide.
